Crashing Waves Pt. 2

“Come, Briar.” a woman said, holding out a hand, waiting for a small child. “Yes, mother.” the child replied, running up to the woman, leaving behind a small baby deer. The two walked through a large forest, twigs and leaves snapping under their bare feet. The woman hummed a soft song, and a slight breeze came swaying past them from behind. The leaves on the trees moved with it, whistling along with the wind’s soft tune. The child looked up at the top of the trees, where barely any blue sky could pass through. They then turned their head as a family of rabbits went rushing by. Briar then looked ahead, to a slight opening in the trees, where light flooded through to the forest floor. It is a path the pair have taken many times, but their feet never leave prints, and nothing is ever out of place. The woman and the child stopped once outside of the trees. The woman took a deep breath, and looked down at the child called Briar, and smiled gently. Briar smiled back, with a small giggle.

She watched as the boat rocked back and forth on the waters of the ocean, and listened as the waves crashed against its sides. There was no way the ship was going to survive the storm that Mother Nature had created. Even as sturdy as the men aboard thought it was, they were wrong. They were always wrong, especially when they challenged the power of the gods. Slowly, she sunk under the water, and headed toward the ship. It wouldn’t be long now before it filled with water and was claimed by the sea. She made her way through the water and to the large boat. There was already a hole in it, letting the water in, as the crew scrambled to try and keep themselves afloat. She crawled inside and stood up, looking around at the men in pity. They all probably had family waiting for them, but they’d never see them again. She made her way up to the main deck, without being noticed. Her job never seemed to end. The wind roared loudly around the ship, and the men shouted orders to each other

It was the same nightmare over and over again. Always the same nightmare. Kaito would slowly open his eyes, only to find he was laying in sand. He would sit up, only to have more roll off him, as if he'd been covered with it like at a beach. But he was starting to get familiar with this terrain. Every once in a while I remember I still have an account here. I don't really post much, but boy is it great nostalgia. 10 years and 712 deviations isn't bad. I reread through a few of my stories and god, some of them are cringey, but some of them are good. There's a part of me that wants to pick up "The Darkness in Them" again, but I just don't know that I should. I've pretty much put Eliza behind me, and I don't feel it would be right to continue the story when one of the main characters isn't even mine. Even so, Eliza and Rowan, and No Name and Fire, and many other old couples will always have a special place in my heart. I'm not leaving the site or anything! And I'm definitely not giving up writing, I'm just saying it's time to let some of those old characters rest. Might I bring them back once in a while? Maybe, but for now I have so many other OCs to write about and create things for, so that's what I'm going to do. Hopefully it'll give me inspiration to keep writing and maybe

Wow. I'm here on DA once again. I haven't written a journal in what....4 years....? Oof. Anyway. I'm here, and will probably get to writing again, at some point. It's been a while since I've actually wanted to write. I've been kind of......out of it.....for a while now. I get ideas, but then I write them down and end up losing them. But never fear!
